Scholarships for developing nations for distance education from the Commonwealth in 2023 and 2024 (fully funded)

The UK government offers a scholarship program that is guided by international development goals and is administered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC). It is a vivid illustration of the UK’s ongoing dedication to the Commonwealth and operates within the framework of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP). The CSC’s work combines sustainable development with the UK’s national interest and provides opportunities for international partnerships and collaboration by attracting people from all backgrounds who have outstanding talent and recognizable potential and supporting them to become leaders and innovators upon their return.

Purpose: The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, which are supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), provide talented and driven individuals with access to training and skills necessary for sustainable development that are unavailable in their home countries.

Beneficiaries in mind: Candidates from Commonwealth nations with low or middle incomes who meet the requirements are eligible for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, which allow them to continue their education in their home countries while pursuing a part-time taught Master’s degree at UK universities.

The applications for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship will be distributed to universities in the United Kingdom. In May 2023, those universities will nominate the candidates they have chosen to receive the scholarship. After that, the CSC verifies that the nominees meet the CSC’s eligibility requirements. In July 2023, universities will notify candidates if they have been granted a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship.

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship application should be completed and submitted as soon as possible because the CSC’s online application system will be very busy in the days leading up to it. The CSC cannot accept applications that are not submitted through the CSC’s online application system.

The applications for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship will be distributed to universities in the United Kingdom. In May 2023, those universities will nominate the candidates they have chosen to receive the scholarship. After that, the CSC verifies that the nominees meet the CSC’s eligibility requirements. In July 2023, universities will notify candidates if they have been granted a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship.

As the CSC’s online application system will be very busy in the days leading up to the application, candidates are advised to complete and submit their Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship application as soon as possible. Candidates may accept only one offer of a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, though they may apply for multiple courses and universities. Please keep in mind that Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are only available for Master’s-level coursework and not for undergraduate or PhD studies. Please inquire with the chosen university for specific instructions regarding when to apply, admission requirements, and application procedures.

Applications that are not submitted through the CSC’s online application system cannot be accepted by the CSC.

The application period will end on March 28, 2023, at 16:00 (GMT).

In addition to applying for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship through the CSC’s online application system, candidates must apply for and be admitted to an approved Master’s course at a participating UK university.
