LEADERSHIP learned that on Thursday of last week, a young herder in the Ungwan Juju area was tied to a tree and macheted to death by some locals.

Confidentially, a senior military source in the region informed our correspondent that: One Umar Sambo, a herder, was killed on Thursday last week while returning from grazing his cattle near Ungwan Juju in Zangon Kataf LGA.
The executioners tied the youthful herder up, matcheted him to death and concealed the carcass in an obscure area. When his brother, who went by the name Safiyanu, couldn’t find him, he told the security guards, who started a search. At Ungwan Juju, his body was finally discovered.
He stated that a clash between security personnel and some Fulanis at a checkpoint in Ungwan Wakili on Saturday evening resulted in the deaths of a Fulani man and a policeman, compounding the security situation that they were attempting to manage.
